Captain’s Log- 2 June 2010 – Inspection in Uganda

Mark Newnam has a unique way of doing things-check the headlamp!

Yesterday at 11:30 p.m. I got a text saying today’s flight to Goma and Bukavu was off, so  we were able to fly the Caravan directly to Uganda for regularly scheduled maintenance.  Cher and Lu came along so we could leave from Kampala for our trip to Kenya.  The Mini Inspection is the shortest little inspection we do and usually takes just a couple of days.  It was the first time I had been back with the guys in the shop for at least a month or two and it was lots of fun.  The MAF Uganda guys are always very helpful and we were able to get everything done, so later in the afternoon I flew the plane from Kajjansi to Entebbe so Joey Lincoln could come over from Bunia with MAF Uganda and take it straight back into service.
